High in the mountains above Boulder, Colorado, in the midst of a raging storm in the winter of 1978, Ryan Dart was born. That roaring entry into the world is a fitting metaphor for the creative tempest within this budding artist and musician.
Ryan grew up in the South, where he developed a life-long attraction to the arts. He especially focused on the works of Dali, Picasso, Warhol, Hendrix and Dylan, studying them closely through his teen years.
Armed with deep passion for music and art, and a degree from the esteemed Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts, Ryan returned to Colorado and a dream gig at Coupe Studios, one of the leading audio and sound design studios in the country.
But Ryan's passion and creativity demands more than one creative outlet. Ryan also performs with his band, performs live solo acoustic performances, live sound mixing on-location album recording, and helps promote and book fresh bands.
And, of course, he spends hours in his studio pouring his soul into his paintings. Every painting a thrill, every painting a catharsis.
When he was recently named artist-in-residence for a downtown Boulder wine bar and restaurant, locals and tourists alike were immediately drawn to Ryan‚s paintings. He also displays his work in the 'Solstice' gallery on the New Jersey shore during the summer.
Within the last year, patrons across the country have purchased and commissioned his work, businesses have licensed the use of his designs, his paintings have shown up as CD covers and large event invitations, and the requests continue to come in.
Since that tempestuous birthday in the winter of ‚78, Ryan Dart, the artist has been building momentum, a gathering storm of creativity. The downpour's just beginning!
